4 years of lovelines

For our 4 year anniversary we decided to go to the San Diego Temple where we were sealed for time & all eternity. We drove down saw the beautiful temple ready to go in and realized that the temple was closed for cleaning. We failed to call ahead to make sure that the temple was open. So we enjoyed the beautiful view and talked about our special day. Went to the Mormon Battalion museum, ate great food and enjoyed being with each other.

Yes, for those of you that don't know we did have In-N-Out cater our wedding. Thanks Josh for making life so wonderful. I love each day with you & am so glad you are my best friend & eternal companion. Thanks for all you do & are. I love you & can't wait for the next 4 years.

10K

The holidays came & we gained some weight.....the holidays left.....the weight didn't... problem I think so. Solution...start moving more and shoving our faces less. We decided to get back to working out. Signed up for a 10K (aka 6.2 miles). So we were training our little hearts out. The Monday before I got bronchitis & was unable to complete the race with my sweet honey. Josh did a FANTASTIC job. He was able to finish under an hour (his goal). Just wanted to brag about how great he is.

Big Sur & Hearst Castle

For a fun weekend we decided to drive up the coast and enjoy the beauty of the beautiful state of California. We drove to Solvang, Big Sur & Hearst Castle. Our favorite part was just being together enjoying the beauty of the earth which we live on.

Solvang, Californa

We stopped to check out this cute little Danish town. Josh's family has a strong Danish line, he said he felt right at home. We got some yummy pastry's then headed over to "Bit O'Denmark" a quaint little restaurant for dinner that was delish.

Big Sur, California

Josh & Jenn. If you look closely at the picture you can see how the road just follows the coast. That was our drive from Morro Bay to Monterey. About a 2 1/2 hour drive. The fun part was seeing the ocean on one side and huge tall redwood trees on the other side of us.

Pfeiffer State Beach-Big Sur. This was just a short walk from the road & well worth the view. The beach is closed to the public to protect the beauty.

Josh & Jennifer enjoying the beauty of the coast.

Elephant Seal Beach located about 5 miles north of Hurst Castle. Each year hundreds of Elephant Seals travel here to give birth, & breed. It was a loud sight to see but worth the stop.

Hearst Castle

Hearst Castle owned by William Randolph Hearst built between 1919 & 1947. Mr. Hearst acquired his wealth in the newspaper business. He built a huge castle upon a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean filled with numerous arts & antiques. Mr. Hearst even had his own private zoo which was the largest private zoo of anyone in the world.

A gorgeous view of the outdoor pool. Doesn't it just look inviting to jump in? This is where Mr. Hearst would entertain many guest while they staying in his castle. Our tour guide told us that every year in September every worker gets to invite 2 family members or friends to a pool party & swim in here. Where do we sign up right?! The parks department even installed a metal handrail for swimmers to get in & out of the pool (for the pool party they can't use the one made out of marble or get out of the pool any other way).

The stunning view from one of the many bedrooms inside the castle.

A view of Mr. Hearst personal library (our favorite room). Everywhere you looked there were books and priceless ancient artifacts.

The inside pool which is lined with gold. We enjoyed our trip so much were going to do it again with some of Josh's family over Memorial Day & we can't wait. If you ever get the opportunity to visit take advantage you won't regret it.

Ringing in 2011

For New Year's we traveled over to Cottonwood to ring in the new year with family. We were able to celebrate a late Christmas & just spend quality time with the family. We enjoyed the cold weather as it reminded us of our days in Rexburg, ID.

This is what greeted us as we were driving into Cottonwood.

We went on a fun date with Aaron & Katie and Jared to see True Grit. Good movie if you haven't already seen it.

Sunshine opening her Christmas gift from us (yes, that's a picture of us....I know so thoughtful right?).

Josh so excited to get Sarah Palin's book for Christmas.

Jared, Ethan & Camden enjoying ice cream after a huge fun family dinner.

It was so cold in Cottonwood while we were there. It has never been that cold there for me (Jennifer). I kept thinking I was in Rexburg. So we kept checking the weather & the weather said 7 but feels like -4. It was VERY cold. The funny thing is, Thomas (Jennifer's brother) was ringing in the new year in New York and it was in the high 30's, Jennifer's sister lives in Iowa City, Iowa and it was in the high teens. Every place we check was warmer with the exception of Rexburg, ID & Antarctica. It was nice having Josh to cuddle up with to stay warm. We rang in the new year with Trevor setting off fireworks & doing skateboard tricks over them.

L.A. Zoo

My sisters, their kids & I went to the L.A. Zoo for the afternoon. It was very entertaining. I've forgotten how much fun & entertaining kids make everything. We had a wonderful time....some of the animals probably wish we didn't go, but that's another story.....we sure had fun.

Audree kept laughing and telling/showing us what the giraffe does so we decided to show the camera.

Aleena & Samantha trying to get a better look, don't worry, we were watching them....watching them climb into the cages.

Our zoo crew! (Jolisa taking the picture.)

A very big THANK YOU to my sweetheart for working so hard so I can do these fun things with my siblings.

Christmas 2010

We LOVE this time of the year, being able to spend time with family, reflect on why we celebrate the season. Remember the birth of our Savior and just being around loved ones. Josh was such a sweetheart and put the Christmas lights just the way I like them. For sure our house was the cutest on the block.

Samantha & Audree came with me to my ward Christmas party and meet Santa. Audree kept telling us how excited she was and when it came time she just didn't want to be very close.

The girls in their matching Christmas dresses playing Christmas music. (Left to right Kaycee, Aleena, Audree & Samantha.)

Josh reading Aleena & Samantha a bed time story.

Handsome Drake with his momma.

Audree & Samantha with their matching jewelry boxes.

Our Christmas tree, our biggest present was too big to fit under the tree it was the other half of BORA BORA. I made a scrapbook for Josh on shutterfly of all the trips we did last year and he LOVED it. I can't wait to do my next scrapbook.

Audree & Drake enjoying their new pj's from their Uncle Doug.

Samantha showing us how great of a shot she has with her new pink bb-gun.

Kaycee so happy to see her Uncle Josh & Aunt Gigi.

We ended the night with a movie, a tradition that Josh's family does. Josh really enjoyed this movie, I had fun, I was with my sweetheart & family. Thanks Josh for making Christmas so wonderful and memorable. Love you.
